It's Not The Business Plan People Avoid. It's the Belief.

I went to a business plan training yesterday, and one stat really stuck with me.

Only about 5 percent of real estate agents actually have a business plan. That same small group tends to make most of the money in whatever market they’re in.

What surprised me even more than the income gap was that only five percent of people are starting the year with real direction.

We were asked to write down ten goals. And yes, writing things down matters. It increases your chances of achieving them. But I think there’s a missing piece people don’t talk about.

Belief.

If you don’t believe something is possible for you, no plan will save you. But the moment you believe it might be, you’ve given yourself a real shot.

I don’t think most salespeople avoid business plans because they’re too busy. I think they avoid them because writing down what you really want forces you to face whether you believe you can actually have it.

And that’s uncomfortable.
