The Buyer Who Brought Their Entire Family to Every Showing

Showing property in Manhattan isn’t for the faint of heart.

Trying to guess how long an Uber will take? That’s a full-time job.

Add in a couple, two small kids, and grandparents? Now we’re in group-tour territory.

One summer, I worked with a buyer who brought almost her entire family to every showing. And while yes, it was only one giant Uber per property, it added up. Just getting everyone in and out took a lot of time. We were zigzagging the West Side, running behind, and somehow always waiting for someone to grab a water.

At one point, the listing agent and I had a full-blown adult conversation with a 7-year-old who was a total ham. Everyone had an opinion on each unit. No one could believe I hadn’t built in a lunch break. I thought I’d be showing one person, not leading a real estate field trip.

We were late. We were messy. But we laughed a lot.

By the second outing, I was ready. I built in breaks. I brought snacks and managed expectations.

And when we finally closed on a place, I knew one thing for sure:

The entire family was happy.

To this day, I adore that family.

Their condo isn’t just a great apartment. It’s a real home.
